This is Major Tom(boy) checking in with all of you out there at Ground Control. Â My circuits are not dead; Â the world is blue, orange, green, yellow, orange and a billion other wonderful colors, and life is great!
The opening reception for The Mola Series was well received  at the Museo Cancebi in Manta, and many people participated in the I Can Do This” hands-on experiment!   The “impromptu’ painting later earned the name: “Ceibo Loco”
My friends Barbara and Laura traveled from the Republic of Panama while Marta came from Quito via bus so that they could help with last-minute details before the opening. Wow, were they incredible helpers, and the show would not have gone as well without their help. Â “I get by with a little help from my friends!”
The Mola Series  will move to the Banco Central Museum in Portoviejo, Ecuador for the entire month of July and will then go to the Banco Central Museum in Bahia de Caraquez!  There are endless images waiting my attention but for now I’ll share random ones as Barb and Laura experience my typical life here in Manabi.
Enjoy the photos! Â Z
Barb’s first parapente flight went well as we decompressed at Hostal Cruzita before moving up the coast to Jama. Â Raul and Gina prepared an amazing variety of wonderful food and drink, and we also enjoyed David’s menu at Motumbo.

You are so very welcome, Barbara! Thanks for being patient until I emerged from my final burst of painting/creative energy before the show! I am so glad that you, Laura and Marta witnessed the conception of “Ceibo Loco” and watched its many changes over those final few days! I was also so very proud of your first parapente experience in Cruzita! What’s next? Z

I have been waiting to see a new blog post from you. Your photos are fun loving,it shows a mind full with nature it self and a people’s person. Your words are always motivational to me when I go through them,it tells me that- i am on the right track. Thank u

Gracias! Preparing for the show while living in hostals for several weeks has consumed most of my time. My friends were a huge help, though I had little cyber time! I will be catching up on neglected posts and reading/appreciating many others. Z

Your mola with the azure blue in it looked like a quilt in the photo! Very pretty colors! You certainly live an exciting life, Lisa!

BTW, did you notice that the tomato at 9:00 o’clock on your dinner plate with “Robalo ala plancha” had a face? Very funny hat he’s wearing too! 😉
zeebradesigns said:
You’re right, and what a great face it has! You’re also right about it looking like a quilt – wouldn’t that be a pretty sight – to see one as a quilt? Hmmmmm.

Yes it would! I had the same thought. (Using
an original design of my own, of course! 😉 )

…So many ideas.. so little time to pursue them all! (and such nice problems to have —- while teaching a mosaic class!) from ocean-side class, z

I love your paintings, they are full of life and the exhibition looks amazing! Great photos as well, :).

Muchas gracias, amiga! Each morning I have shared your ‘thought for the day’ with my friends! We are all enjoying your posts! Z
Marianne said:
Muchas gracias! 🙂 Your positive feedback is much appreciated any day but extra much today. Having a surreal day with lots of negative feedback from total strangers… I’m going to look at your paintings for awhile, and then go the dentist, :). Marianne
zeebradesigns said:
How damaging negative feedback/criticism can be, especially when it comes from negative people who assume that you’re wired like they are. Remember Kipling’s “If” – “if you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you…’ It’s not you, amiga.. it’s them. Think about the joy you give others each day, and know that the negative people teach us how NOT to be. You are treasured and don’t forget it! Z

Thank you, thank you and thank you once more! You are a wonderful human being, that is way you can paint like an angel, :). I should know better, it started small and then turned into something ugly. It took me by surprise, and I’ve learnt a few nasty things today… I grow up in an “arty” home, and I love art. It makes me feel good, makes me think in a new way, makes me happy when I am down, and sometimes even upset me. Today, your painting has had a calming effect on my feelings, :). Tack! (thanks in Swedish) Marianne

Well! Because of your day of discomfort, I have learned a new word: Tack! Thanks! I will share it with my friends later today! Hopefully when you awaken, the sun will smile on you throughout the entire day! Siempre, Z

Sunny on the inside, and outside today, :).

Hey! Someone said there was a photo missing on this post (Encebollado) and when I checked, I saw this comment from you. I’m sorry that I missed it earlier. Thanks so much, and yes, it’s a very eclectic blog!
How many more months of cold weather do you have? I’m guessing two more, and then I’ll bet you’ll be sharing some incredible springtime images! Z

Thanks! I try to keep this one on a more-serious level about nature, though I get cross threaded a lot and post on the other site! The right hemisphere of the brain gets the blame!
I look forward to spending more time on your blog as well. In another week I’ll be ‘hanging’ the next show, and am working on a few more new paintings. Soon I’ll have more computer time.
btw, I have enjoyed your playlist as background music when painting. Z

Thanks, amiga! Si, while in tourist mode, I tend to graze my way through each day! We had some incredible food for very fair prices. As with most vacations, it’s the locals that transform your visit into an unforgettable one. Z

This post is building up my appetite not only for food but for exotic travel and art too :O)

Thank you so much, Paula! Si, the Ecuadorian life certainly fits my needs! I’m glad you enjoyed the post! Z

Hello there my friend! This is everything wonderful about blog posts all rolled into one: great art, good friends, good food, photos and creating beautiful things. I couldn’t be more pleased for you (and for myself, having the good fortune to enjoy this post :)) Hmm, I thought I was already following you (perhaps your other blog?) Whatever the case, I will remedy right now and follow here too.
A pleasure, as always 🙂

Thanks amiga! Sometimes the two blogs overlap a bit ike Brer Rabbit and Tar Baby! One was meant to cover art and the other travel and nature, but they had minds of their own! You’ll surely receive every post made from Z’s briar patch! Z
