Ecuador has many faces, but the most special ones belong to the people who make the fabric of the country. This pictorial tour gives samples of several sections of the country, but the majority of the images capture the pastoral life in Manabi. Coming soon is the first Zeebra Map for Ecuador.
Sample ZeebraMap The images below capture a tiny sliver of the many facets of Ecuador. More will follow soon, I hope!

Ecuador’s a beautiful country. Thank you showing us some of your photos.
How does a Mississippi girl end up so far from home?
Years ago in Costa Rica someone asked if I ever dreamed I would live so far from home. I smiled and said that when I was young, I wanted to live in Argentina and raise quarter horses!
In Costa Rica, most everything I bought for the house was made in Ecuador. Ecuador. Ecuador. I wanted to visit the country that was producing so much incredible work. (weavings, masks, pottery) From the moment I visited, the country captivated me! How I ended up so far off the normal tail is a post in itself. I’ll save that one for a rainy day! Z
Lovely pictures!!!!
muchas gracias! z
I want to go to Ecuador, it looks lovely!
Hopefully one day you will find your way here! If so, we would have great fun touring the country while making uniquely-different daily blog reports!
Am presently painting bright happy designs in Hostal Cruzita’s restaurant area!

Great idea, I love it!
Maybe next year… I’m fully booked this year. You must show us your happy designs when you are finished. Happy designs, hmmm…. I feel an idea coming… It happens all the time,
.
But of course you have a great idea! I look forward to seeing where this incubating idea goes! Z
Ah Cuenca, indeed! Beautiful. Thanks for the introduction.
Si! Cuenca is indeed a beautiful well-dressed lady! She’s my favorite city, and I have a commission to paint on location there later this year! I am already looking forward to my time there which has been way too long! Z
Loved your pictures, love your art. Have always wanted to be an artist. My maiden name is “van Rhijn” (like Rembrandt), alas none of his talents. Do you give classes? I’ll sign up right now! Hope to meet you sometime in the near future.
hey!
yes, i do give classes and love to teach! When “The Mola Series” finishes its run through the museums of Manabi, I will be coming to Cuenca to work on a commission. Perhaps we can find time/place for a small workshop!
Thanks so much for your comment and your praise! I look forward to meeting both/all of you! (I’ve not read enough to see if your daughters made the move or not..)

That would be wonderful! All of it, lessons and meeting you! It is only my husband and myself, our two girls have their own thing going on. But they will come and visit. Both of them have been in Ecuador before and look forward for a return visit.
Back to packing up now….
Judith
I agree! That will be wonderful!
Having three museum shows over a three-month period has been exhausting, and I am looking forward to when I can go to Cuenca for a change of pace! It will be an honor to meet you both! Z
Nice shots… looks like such a simple life.
Thanks for the visit over at CTB
Si, it’s a great life! Thank YOU as well! z
Wonderful images but that last portrait is special.
